For nearly 30 years, I’ve been navigating the many sides of design and product worlds: building products, leading teams, mentoring people, and shaping strategies.
My work now blends Design & Product Leadership, Coaching, and Strategy & Futures to support others in making smart decisions and navigating increasing uncertainty and complexity.
Coaching
Strategic advising, mentoring, and coaching have become natural extensions of my leadership and management work, especially when supporting leaders and senior individual contributors navigating high-stakes decisions.
Professional generalist
Even though I call myself a manager and coach, I don’t really like titles. I consider myself to be a pluralist, and I feel comfortable working across boundaries of any kind. I’m exploring the crossroads of multiple disciplines. Apart from management and coaching, I’m working on the intersection of design, product, strategy, system thinking, and futures thinking.
All this makes me a generalist, but I do specialize in something — being comfortable with the unknown and being able to navigate uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity.
A brief history
Currently, I am leading the UX organization in AgTech* space at Yara
Since 2023 I have been working at Yara as a Senior Manager, focusing on the Yara Digital Platform that supports farmers and agronomists to increase efficiency and sustainability.
* AgTech refers to the application of modern technologies in agriculture including digital and physical products for data collection and computation, use of AI, GPS-enabled systems, drones, and driverless tractors, to name a few.
Before Yara, I worked at Zalando as a Design Manager. As part of the Fashion Store digital experience, I was responsible for the Product Design team focused on inspiration and engagement.
In a more distant past, as the first product designer in Contentful, I led strategic design efforts and helped the company to build the product and grow design capabilities from scratch. Before joining Contentful, I co-owned a small service design consultancy, where I helped clients to define their strategies, and product and service offerings.
That would sum up the last 15 years of my work. The rest is as ancient as the Nokia 3310 and involves interface design, packaging design, programming in Clipper ’87, and software architecture.
